TIME: 10 am
Arena will be open for open riding until 30 minutes prior to the race to prepare the ground and arena.
Entry Fees:
Open - $100
Youth - $75 (16 years of age as of January 1, 2025)
Pee Wee - FREE (ages 4-11 as of race day)
+ $15 administration fee (once per rider per day)
+ $20 photography fee (one time fee per rider for the day)
Pee wee riders are NOT permitted to cross enter in any division. No EF for pee wee division, however, they are still required to pay the administration and photography fees.
Youth may enter the Open and will run in the Youth. Youth have option to re-run and must decide IMMEDIATELY after their run if they wish to carry over or run again in the Open, otherwise, we assume that they will carryover their time. Contestant, parent or family member must come to the announcer’s booth to declare before the end of the youth division.
This jackpot will be an Open 5D with full second splits and will pay 5 spots in each D. Youth will be a 3D with full second splits and pay 3 spots in each D. Pee Wee will be a standard race without payout.
85% of the entry fees paid into this race will be paid out.
100% of sidepots will be paid out.
Western attire - hat or helmet. Pee wee’s and youth are highly encouraged to wear helmets but ultimately is the parent’s decision.
All pee wee riders will receive a prize and the Champion and Reserve Champion will also win additional prizes. Pee wee awards presented in the arena immediately after the pee wee’s run. The rest of the awards to follow the barrel race. Must be in attendance to receive awards and payout. Western attire required for awards.
SIDEPOTS
The following sidepots will be available to enter. All divisions can enter the sidepots. Futurity horses must be 5 years of age or younger and in their futurity year. Derby horses are eligible up to age 8. NEW this year – Campaigner sidepot for aged-out horses, 9 years of age and older.
WF Western Fortunes – riders must declare their horses are WF and are responsible to enter this sidepot through the Western Fortunes website: WF Event Entry

‘You Can’t Ride Papers’ Grade Horse Stake - $30
Tough Luck – no entry fee – automatically entered if you knock a barrel.
Papers are required to enter the Futurity, Derby, Campaigner and Manitoba Bred sidepots as proof of age and breeder. To be eligible for the Manitoba Bred sidepot, your horse must have been bred by a Manitoba breeder and listed as such on their registration papers.
Sidepots will pay 2 spots in a 2D, except the Manitoba Bred which has become the Pride of the Prairie. It will feature added money courtesy of our breeder sponsors, will pay a 4D and have prizes in each D.
To be eligible for the Grade Horse Stake, horses must NOT be registered with any breed registry. There is no way to prove a horse is unregistered so we will go by the honour system.
Barrel racers who knock a barrel will be automatically pulled into the Tough Luck sidepot. 5 seconds is added to your time per knocked barrel.
