   In more than 20 years of our history, the Rocking W Ranch family has had many successes in the horse industry, including horses we've competed on ourselves, one's we've raised as well as horses we've purchased & last but not least, horses we've sold to others that have gone on to significant achievement in their fields.

Both Dusty & Tanya competed all their lives in 4H, local horse shows & rodeo using both purchased & home-raised horses.  We have also trained & sold numerous horses as well as colts that have been purchased, trained & competed on.

There are too many horses to list, so here is a sampling of horses of we've trained ourselves, as well as testimonials of people who have purchased horses from us.

BIG (as we called him)     PHOTO BY MIKE COPEMAN   Big, as we called him, was sold at the Rocking W Ranch sale in 2002 to Jake Braun of Beechy, SK. He was later sold to Professional pick-up men, the Rempel Brothers. He has since been used as a pick-up horse at professional rodeos, including the Calgary Stampede. He is shown here in a photo from the 2004 Stampede, jogging on the left next to the bucking horse picking up the cowboy from his ride.

Baldy COTEAU CAMELOT YOUNG AMERICAN DIAMOND CHARGE AQHA race SI-100 AAAT, track record holder Ruidoso Downs 330 yards ROSE ELLEN TH multiple race producer COTEAU CAMEO BEGGAR HIGH KIT MAY CHUCKWAGON PONY MARE     Baldy was a finished calf & heel horse when he was purchased for Dusty as her high school rodeo mount. Dusty trained & finished Baldy as a barrel, pole & goat tying horse.  She also used him in breakaway roping & he was mounted on occasion by Doyle Fenty (D5 Performance Horses) for calf roping. Dusty & Baldy qualified for the NHSFR in '03 & '04 in goat tying.  Baldy & Dusty won multiple All-Around/Hi Point Cowgirl awards at Manitoba High School Rodeo.  Baldy & Dusty finished in the top 10 in all 5 events at each of their MHSRA finals.  Baldy was also competitive at gymkhanas, jackpots and Heartland Rodeo Association rodeos.   Baldy was sold in 2004 at the Rocking W Fall sale to Jamie Strand (now Jamie Longbrake) of Bison, SD. "Just letting you know that Jet, who I bought at the sale in Saskatoon in 2007, is a great horse.  I have been heading and even heeling steers off him and he loves it.  He is about 16.2HH and really athletic.  He is a gentle giant to be around and everyone can ride him, kids to seniors.  Thank you for raising great horses... I would really like another good horse like him.   Thank you" - Kevin Gee & Boons Bonita Warrior     Thanks also goes to Kevin on the purchase of Boons Royal Flush in 2010!  We look forward to seeing how he comes along! UPDATE! Jet Kevin says he has been hauling Jet to a few jackpots this winter & says he has been doing well!  He says everyone wants him!  So awesome to hear! Dollar Boons Royal Flush, aka: Dollar, was used last summer in the PF pasture & was started roping in the arena in this winter.  Dollar has been sold to a lady who wants him to rope & run barrels & also for her kids!  Will try to keep updated on Dollar! We received an email on the following 2 horses... this is how the email began... "Hi!  Its Jasmine Shaver here.  We had bought a 2004 blue roan stallion from Kevin McCutcheon that he had originally bought from you and also a 2005 bay roan colt.  Both these boys are out of your blue stallion, PC Boons Feature.  They are all grown up now & are just awesome!"

"The 2005 gelding is my best horse.  I have been showing him since he was 2 and he is so level-headed and just the best partner I could ask for.  He has earned his place as a permanent feature of our farm as long as he lives.  He was trained by Bonnie McCutcheon and we are going to be doing reining hopefully. The past few years we have just been doing smaller shows and some 4H and he always cleans house."

Barry Sunny aka: Sunny AQHA BAY ROAN GELDING PC BOOONS FEATURE BOON DOX JOHN BOON BAR  DUDES QUEEN FEATURE FROST SUN FROST MISS KITTI JA DOCS POCO PINE THE BLAZIN SADDLE DOCS JACK FROST SANDALWOOD BAY KROGS PINE DOLL PAPRIKA PINE POCO SHEILA DOLL "Thank you Rocking W for producing some great horses.  We bought "Barry Sunny" as a barrel racing project and things are going GREAT!  I just love him and I want to let you know how things are going!  Lets start with all the qualities that I have found with "Sunny".  He is a big horse but very athletic and can handle the turns easily.  He has a huge stride and speed to burn.  He is very smart & learns fast.  But the most important thing is his loving nature and big heart to try whatever I ask him to do.  I spent last summer at barrel jackpots, breakaway roping and showing at local horse shows.  He handled it all from halter classes, reining, roping, poles and barrels.  I ended the season off at the MBRA Finals where he made awesome patterns and demonstrated his great athletic talent.  I look forward to the summer of 2011 with Sunny, where my goal is to continue seasoning him and enter him in the Norther Lights Derby competing against some of the top derby horses in Canada.  Judging from last year's progress, I know he has a great future!" - Sarah Anderson
