ROCKING W SALE SPRING SALE ROCKING W RANCH
|
Our Braggin' Rights! In the more than 20 years of
our history the Rocking W Ranch family
has had many successes in the horse industry, including horses
we've raised, horses we've purchased and horses sold to others
that have gone on to significant achievement in their fields.
If you have a horse that has been purchased from us & you'd like to let us know of their achievement, please email us! BIG Big,
as we called him, was sold at the Rocking W Ranch Sale in 2002 to Jake
Braun, of Beechy, SK & was later sold to professional pick-up men, the
Rempel Brothers. He has since been used as a pick-up horse at professional
rodeos, including the Calgary Stampede. He is shown here in a photo from the
2004 Stampede, jogging on the left next to the bucking horse picking up the cowboy
from his ride. ![]() photo
by Mike Copeman www.mikecopeman.com BALDY Baldy was purchased from Nathan Scott from Nipawin, SK for Dusty for a high school rodeo mount. His sire was Coteau Camelot by Young American & he was out of a pony chuckwagon mare. Baldy was a finished heel & calf horse when he was purchased, but he soon added more events to his repetoire; goat tying, breakaway roping, barrel racing & pole bending. Baldy was also mounted on occasion by Doyle Fenty in the calf roping event. Baldy was competitive in all his events & he carried Dusty to 2 National High School Rodeo Finals in the goat tying event. He also helped her win many high point Cowgirl titles in the MHSRA as well as many event titles at weekend rodeos. In 2004 Baldy was sold at the Rocking W Ranch horse sale to Jamie Strand of Bison, SD. Since Jamie has had Baldy, she has won numerous saddles, buckles & money on Baldy. Jamie still currently owns him. ![]() Barrel Racing, Pole Bending & Breakaway Roping at the 2004 Manitoba High School Rodeo Finals.
